We have long heard about the amazing living off people like Epicurus who found nice spots away from the city to live with friends together. Skateboarders are similar to this and are often living in a community. Maybe while travelling with a group through Europe, or maybe they live in a house with a lot of skater friends.

The hierarchies
The community can be thought of as the wholeness of skateboarders in your surrounding. Skateboarders often mix well together. On the skate spots, there are hierarchies of competence and rules of who talks to who that exist, however, they can be broken easily because the Alpha male in the skatepark is probably open to talking to everyone without acting superior. Actually, acting superior in these situations shows that you're actually not an alpha because it is important to be a good guy around skateboarders, that is a value. If the alpha is not good, they usually drop down socially even though the level of skating is on the top. The best alpha is like Mufasa, the father of Simba in the Lion King. Skaters are typically like Timon and Pumba, carefree and very different from Mufasa. Still, they have huge respect for Mufasa.

Reasons to skateboard
Somebody at some point of the time talked about why we do activities and what activities there are:
-An activity you do for the sake of the activity. Like a hobby. -An activity you do because you will suffer if you don't. Like a threat.
- Skateboarding starts as a hobby and then turns into a job if you're lucky. Then you mix the skateboarding with the reward which is cool. You might encounter a situation where you will skateboard to avoid a threat. Like skating away from a guy with a gun. Or to do certain amounts of laser flips to save your friends from being beheaded.
The community says it is for the fun most of the times. After, they begin going into the benefits. You will hear about the bad parts of skateboarding when they get angry for not landing a trick down the big 3 blocks at Macba. They might scream ''I hate skateboarding'' or something similar. Or ''Why is there this funkyng crack?''
